So i just wrote my first confrontational email in a long, long time. It was to the sports directors of WNUR, as once again i have been left off all of the basketball broadcasts for this week. Now that the season is winding down, i am starting to realize that i have yet to do play-by-play for a men's basketball Big Ten game. And that sucks. I've been here four years, and haven't done ONE. So i told them i was disappointed in the assignments. As one of four seniors, i feel as though i deserve some preferential treatment. I've put in hundreds of hours to that station, including road trips during blizzards, etc. Am i wrong here to think that i deserve at least one game? To make matters worse, i just went through the old assignments and since the beginning if January (so this doesn't even count the first month of games), 3 different staffers have called at least 3 games. Grr... So we'll see if something comes of this. I showed Marley my email before i sent it, and he said it sounded good: not too confrontational where i'll piss them off, but enough to prove i'm upset by it. How they react, we shall soon see.
In other news, the Patriots won! WAHOO! That team is a freakin' machine and i love it! It'll be interesting to see how they keep it together losing both the offensive and defensive coordinators. But i just have a hunch we'll see them in Detroit in a year. And probably Philly too. I don't see anyone in the NFC competing with them by next year (unless Atlanta improves some more).
And Spindlah was in town. Good times. We played Guillotine until 3 AM. That game is frickin' addicting. Spindlah always gets involved in these surprisingly addicting games, and i can never get myself to stop playing (Mafia, Guillotine, Museum Caper, etc.) They're sorta like heroin. But safer. And less drugg-y. Ok, it's almost 5 AM. I'm out y'all!
