Unemployment Accomplishments (in no particular order):
-Built a new door for the workshop in backyard
-Caught a gopher that was terrorizing my garden plants, and relocated it to a nearby wildlife sanctuary unharmed.
-Found a new job in Northern CA
-Replaced warped radial-arm saw tabletop with a new one, hand built by me.
-Killed/treated 1/3 of the remaining invasive Pampass grass plants in the above mentioned wildlife sanctuary.
-Cleaned workshop to the point that is functional as such, rather than being usable only as storage space.
-Replaced broken water piping (which included drilling through and repouring cement).
-When a car crashed through the brick wall/pillar between our yard and our neighbor, I got the estimates and got everything setup for work to be done.
-Nursed neglected plants in my yard back to health.
-Spent numerous hours on the phone with Earthlink customer service, getting the new modem/router setup.
-Helped recruit members to a local environmental club.
-Helped to plan, prepare for, and cleanup for three days of Earth day celebrations at a local community college.
- Went to the funeral of a family member.
- Went hiking twice.
-Eradicated termites and tore out rotten wood in beams in front porch, and patched and repainted beams.
- Helped to run an acoustic concert/poetry reading event.
-Assisted in a missing person search (for the family member of one of my dad's coworker's neighbor).
-Effectively halted the spread of invasive Scarlet Pimpernel in my yard, through extensive and patient weeding over a few months (there's certainly still a seedbank, but no new seeds this year!).
- Listened to over 4,000 songs.
