kirby puckett died today

i should be diligently working on midterm papers (i have four due by friday, only one of which is complete), but the only things i can think about are: growing a beard, learning how to play the banjo (i don't really know where that urge came from), and taking off from school to travel the united states. i'm not sure if these impulses are normal, but for some reason they seem pertinent. i don't know. unfortunately none of my papers are on any of those topics.
however, i do know that despite record highs in work and records lows in sleep, i'm really enjoying life right now.
