(no subject)
Okay. I know this post is both long and about 2/3 unrelated, but since these three run in the same circle of people and part of it is Doctor Who, I figured I'd make the option open over here.
I know it's not a con meetup, but it's still a meetup, and I figure it'd be fun. Besides, I don't know a lot of cosplayers around here!
And yes, this is copied directly off the announcement I made on Tumblr.
It’s Kaeyla here. I’m very much set on having this done, so here! We’re serious about doing this cosplay shoot, and yes! It’s back to Superwholock because when I first mentioned it to a friend, she said she’d be Sherlock. Therefore, it went from Superwholock to Superwho back to Superwholock.
We’re going to basically flip the SoCal heat the bird and turn it into shoes and wear potentially heavy layers of clothes. I also thought it’d be cool if maybe we all brought something to
eat, and yes, somehow we will get ourselves a pie and some bananas and jam, because what kind of superwholockians are we without our signature foods?
Basically, we’ll just be idiots in and/or out of character, but I’m pretty sure we’ll get a few serious shots in there. Besides, there’s a bunch of lakes where we’re planning this, so hey! Lots of opportunities to take the heartbreaking photos of scenes by water.
When: Dates are still tentative, but we’re trying to do the first week of July, so next week! Depending on feedback, we’ll choose a day, but we’re shooting for Friday afternoon/early evening. If that’s inconvenient for people, we can spend more time there, from earlier hours to later hours so whoever wants to go can go.
Where: Legg Lake. It’s really a lovely little park. I’m not sure which entrance we’ll meet at, considering there are several there, but that’ll be decided. No alcohol or fake weapons, sorry guys. I’d leave the timey wimey detectors at home too. Sonics and journals and deerstalkers are all good, though.
There are a lot of birds here, and a bike trail, so it’s a bit dusty. I’d leave the heels at home too, unless you want to wear them. The park’s in El Monte.
Who: Well, anyone who wants to come! If you only know me from seeing a silly girl around conventions or you know me personally or you have no idea who I am! If you’re in town and you want to drop in, great! If you just want to take derpy photos of a bunch of us, come on over! Don’t worry about not knowing us- we’ll get to know each other, because remember, majority of these characters have no concept of ‘personal space’ and most of us don’t either.
RSVP: First off, send me a message here to let me know you’re going. In that message, just include a way for me to contact you, whether that be Tumblr or email, and if you plan on just taking photos or you’re going to cosplay. If it be the latter, let me know who and (if applicable) what episode/version you’re cosplaying. For example, Doomsday Rose. Or A Good Man Goes to War River. That way we won’t have repeats.
Anyway, I really hope to see you there- it’d be freaking fantastic to meet more fans and cosplayers. If you need extra info, please message me!
