femme!jack at nycc

Hi all, this is my first real post in the community but I've been creeping for months now. I went to New York Comic Con last weekend and was one of the femme!jack's that turned up for the big meet up! I had been trying to piece together my outfit for a few months and was trying to do it on a budget.

I think the best part of my day though was meeting James Marsters and having him suggest we make out...

My Femme!Jack
  • Mens light blue dress shirt, from Wal*Mart
  • White cami to go under the dress shirt, already owned
  • Red skinny suspenders, from Hot Topic
  • Black knee length skirt, already owned
  • Gray tights, already owned
  • Black boots, from Payless
I bought a regular black strapped watch, and found a great leather wrist cuff off of Etsy. It was dark brown and had some flat rounded studs on it, so it looked a bit intricate and was good enough for me to pass as a vortex manipulator for now. I knew Jack's gun would be tricky to find, until I found out he used the same kind as Indiana Jones. I hopped over to Amazon.com and bought a kids costume piece gun for Indiana that came with the holster and belt too (both were cheap vinyl but good enough!) The gun was neon orange and blue so I painted everything but the cap black and tada!

I was at NYCC with my 14 year old brother, who was dressed as the 11th Doctor. His outfit was completely thrift store finds except for the bow tie... not bad!

Captain John Hart and Captain Jack Harkness reunited

My favorite part of the day. I got up to the table and said we were technically boyfriends since I was Jack Harkness. He laughed and said "We should make out!" I then fangirled intensely about how much I loved his character on Torchwood and he was just absolutely lovely.

Thanks to all the lovely people on here who organized the meet up! :)
