I know that apartment = flat.  What would be the proper British term for an apartment building; ie., a residential building at least 10-15 stories high.  (And are the levels called "stories"?)

Just joined the comm and figured I'd start out with a question! In the US, we might call a mansion and grounds (such as AU!Pete has) an 'estate'. Would it be true for the UK? Or given that the Powell Estates isn't exactly high living, does 'estate' not have the same connotation?
