quiet before the storm...ok, boredom before rehearsals begin- comawn baby, damn!
it's 3:41 in the PM here in scenic Martinsville, Indiana. it's about half an hour from Indianapolis and about the same to Bloomington. i've scoped out the place...pretty much everything you could need within walking distance of our hotel except a borders. ya got yourself a bar & grill, pizza hut, mexican place (i reeeally hope it's good), subway, burger king, mcdonald's, kmart, kfc, papa john's, kroger, dairy queen, goody's if i need to buy clothes, and a cato if i need to buy women's clothes (and when i say 'buy women's clothes' i mean for some reason that is NOT wearing them myself to the bar & grill for kicks), and a rural king if i need to buy any farming supplies in bulk. free breakfast here at the hotel and free wireless internet (my new best friend), but the indoor pool is closed until further notice. someone needs to get on that like yesterday, cuz man.....not cool.
excited. that's the closest word to describe what i'm feeling other than just happy. i am so happy to actually be starting this new event in my life instead of just thinking about it, talking about it, or planning for it. the only thing i'm not looking forward to is learning a bunch of people's names, because i'm not good at that until i know them for a while. they will no doubt leave something to be desired when compared to all my good friends from home, but i'm not going to be judgemental at first....i'll give a week or two....or a month.....or......eight.
so this is going to be my outlet for any and all funny/interesting stories from the road. i might even change it to drew's BLASTASTIC! journal or something ( i have to give kelly k credit for the term).
