So Sara and I are pretty bad at this "date" thing. :-p All the plans for the anniversary went out the window, but the end results were quite fun. Dinner for two at Zinburger got side-tracked by the idea of sushi with friends... which then ended up being massive sammiches at Bumsteads instead. After kicking around the 4th ave area for a few hours, we wandered down to Congress to catch the show. Doors opened at 8. We got there at 9. 10pm hit and the OPENING band hadn't even gotten on stage. So the group dissolved. Some stayed, some headed to bed, and a few of use (Ro, Dan, Sara and I) went off and played several hours of Rock Band. We got so distracted by it that the planned drinking never occurred. I'm kinda sorry we missed the concert as it sounds like it was great when it finally started, but the alternative entertainment was fun too.
The rest of the weekend was spent seeing the in-laws off, bumming around the house, assembling some Thousand Sons conversions, watching Brazil pants Italy, and generally being mellow. I finished up Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn series and found it fairly decent reading. It wasn't superb and several plot twists were more like a lazy bend in the road. Yet overall the writing was decent and the series worth the read. He's at least on the "look for in paperback" list now.
As to the upcoming weeks? Well, there's a 40K tourney this Saturday that I'm 85% interested in. There's also Ard Boyz in a few weeks and I'm certainly interested in that. Sara starts grad school next week and that should be interesting.
I'm also thinking about seriously going job hunting. The hopes to get back in school have had issues. I'm not even certain if it will ever happen or if it's even worth it any more... Bah, blast and bugger.
