Well, this has certainly been a great week.
So last weekend started off with Sara heading off to Highland's War without me. I was stuck home with the daughter-unit. Oh, horror. So Friday got some great peeps together and headed off for an absolutely killer sushi dinner. After that we went and saw "Up" in 3d. Faydra was amazingly well behaved. It was nice to find out that we can actually take her to the movies if we want. The movie was fun and a good bit bittersweet, which I appreciated. So much stuff has candy coating these days... The evening was fun, laughs were had and Faye crashed out immediately upon getting home.
Saturday was intended to be a day working on some 40K stuff, but turned into hanging with the daughter and reading. Then Roland called about 2:30... "Becca's over, we're playing Rock Band, and we need a drummer!". I vaguely recall Mina feeding us somewhere in there... the rest of the time was a bunch of scrolling colors. At some point we decided to switch places since Ro had a blister on his thumb. Did another set and then realized it was 10 til midnight. So we scattered and went our various ways. Sunday was more reading and then playing in the pool at Malleus'.
Then Monday was my actual birthday. Now we use our phone as our alarm clock too. But at some point I had put the phone on vibrate and forgot to turn it back to audio. So I got into work 2 hours late. Between the obligatory socializing with co-workers and everything else, it was a short day. Then I sweet talked Sara into going to Nico's for dinner. Mmm... the best part about living in the southwest is the plentiful quality Mexican food. Even better, she worked on my shoulders after. I hadn't realized how locked up I was... I'm still a little bruised and draining out.
Tuesday practice was good, though I seem to be leaving a gap on the inside when fighting lefty. I've gotten a bit out of form. Wednesday was another fun day with Mina and I heading to an evening show of Combi-Christ. It was a good, high-energy show and I ran into several old friends there. The in-laws arrived at some point that evening too and the last day and change has been work or hanging out with them.
Tonight's plan is Zinburger with Sara for an anniversary dinner. After that there's a whole crew headed to see Devil Makes Three play. Should be good times. The in-laws head home sometime tomorrow and the general weekend plans are reading and doing some last minute prep for the 40k tourney on the 27th.
I may be bored at my job and never have the time/money to do as much as I'd like... but life is good. :-)
