So I had it pointed out (some two weeks ago) that I have been remiss in posting here.
Somewhat this has been because I'm spending my blogging/writing push over on my
40k site.
Somewhat this has been because not much has been going on.
Somewhat this has been I've been way too damned busy.
Xmas and Holidays were good. Got to see fam and friends, though maybe a bit much of both?
Estrella prep is mostly done. I still need to build the frame and side poles for our new pavilion, but I'm not exceedingly stressed about that. (The laminated, sturdy poles probably aren't going to happen though. At least, not unless a woodworker with a shop takes pity on me...) I'm also trying to figure out how to shoe-horn 8 hours worth of tournaments into 5-6 hours of time, all without overlapping or sticking someone onto a crap day. I've also got a trailer hitch inbound that I'll need to install. Most everything else is either in progress or done though.
Faydra's really looking forward to her 4th birthday. The request was "animals", so we're doing a picnic at the park and then group zoo run. It should be slightly organized chaos.
Work has been typically boring, interspersed with levels of high annoyance. The last couple days have been "fun". Had my boss's boss's boss's boss complain that his e-mail was running slow. Another tech guy and I both tried a couple things and had them fail. So I decided to try and update his e-mail client. This worked fine... up until it burped and ate his entire e-mail box. Not even "moved to Recycle Bin", but "corrupted and over-wrote with new files". So I think "Damn, okay, let's restore from backup then..." Yeah. His comment? "I'm pretty sure I backed up around the start of the fall semester?" So I got to scramble, do some creative repairs and have managed to restore 98% of things. Bah. At least it's got him thinking about the importance of regular backups.
I'm sure there's other things, but they'll have to wait for later inspirations.
