[ Ilsa notes the time of day and the tone of the call, and figures someone is Not Pleased with the situation in general, but knows the basics by now. ]

[ Therefore, her tone is cautious... and as annoyed as the new resident sounds, she might not mention meeting Ami. ]

The bakery does a strawberry shortcake when the berries are in season, but it might not be the same as the sponge cake you are used to.

It's alright, I'm used to trying new things.

[ Her tone is still a bit lighter on this conversation - she doesn't need all of the town to know about the sailor senshi deal yet, after all. ]

I've heard pretty bad things about the milk, though. Is there any indication I can trust the rest of the food?

The milk that is delivered is suspect. Everything else seems all right.

[ Even when Tonks is baking. She's getting better, really! ]

I'm more inclined to cook for myself, actually - but that's because I like to cook, not because I have to.

I'm not sure how cooking is going to be handled in my.. 'family' [ there's a heavy emphasis on the word, ] but I guess I'll figure that out sooner or later. I don't exactly trust this place just yet.

Some of the more social types are organizing a pool party for Wednesday at the recreation center.

Good place to meet others, and observe.

... Is that so?

[ She pauses for a slight moment, as if she's considering it. True, Minako who had the cover of an idol of all people knows about being able to observe people at times like those.. ]

It seems worth a try. Do you know whether the majority of the population here will be attending?

A good number of the teens seemed to be excited about it, even though they just had their end-of-school bonfire a few weeks ago.

[ Get the kids out of the house, this is good. ]

At least I'd fit in, in that case. [ It's said pretty casually, although she's starting to think about things and form plans in her mind by now. ]

I guess I'd at least have to thank you for this tip. Does that sort of stuff happen more often in this place?

There are two types of events I've seen in my two months here. The first, the ones organized by the aware residents, like us, are generally social get-togethers, like the pool party, or a dance in someone's garage. Something that the droned residents usually don't see or get invited to.

The second type of event usually centers around American holidays. They are not enjoyable, for the most part.

[ She pauses, and sighs. Better the girl finds out sooner than later. ] If you have any proficiency with a weapon, talk to one of the adult males that are aware, they might be able to get something for you. There's a holiday coming up on the fourth. For blades or knives, the guy you want to talk to is Hiccup. He's the local smith, and one of us.

[ That's enough to make her pause for a moment. She doesn't want to give away her secret identity just yet, but if this place is like that she'll inevitably have to fight sooner or later, whether she has her powers back yet by then or not. ]

... I see. Don't worry, when a time like that comes, I'm pretty sure I can fight for myself. [ Saying that much should be okay. ] And.. any other sort of powers and weapons from home aren't given back until after events like those, I've heard.

Mmhmm, and they can disappear just as quickly. Sometimes you get to keep things from home, and sometimes you don't. That's why I suggest trying to have at least one weapon made from local materials, just in case.

Got it. I'd rather not be stuck here without any means of defense at all, especially considering the dangers of this place I've read up on. I should at least be prepared to fight just in case.

[ Good, she gets it. ] At least you can be. Check at the Recreation Center later if you need someone to spar. I've heard good things about the teachers.

Ah, really? Is there a place to train and spar there? Seems this place is pretty prepared for people fighting.

We've kinda had to be. Read the pamphlet again, and see how often.

If you need anything else, I'm Ilsa Higa.

Hmm, I've read about the instances. This place practically requires us to fight if we want to make it through, huh? [ Not that she isn't used to fighting, but.. it goes against her sense of justice. ]

I'm Minako. Minako Aino. Pleased to meet you.
