(no subject)
So uh..I have a scanner now! So I went through and scanned some stuff from my sketchbook.
So! Things. Also stuff.
left- a random Savatarii throatsinging, probably performing funerary rights.
Right- abandoned photoshop texture (sometimes I paint textures in my sketchbook for use later) and some figure drawing.
Creature designs for Burning Saga. I wanted a wyvren transport that was more lizardy. Just thinkin' :) There's also a Savatarrii on the right page being awesome and out of proportionm and a confused looking baby Khajit face / painted Khajit egg.
Random dragon doodle. I may re-use/polish this composition or something similar to it for a new wallpaper at some point. Oh, also hangman ;D...what? What do you do during lectures? To my credit, I'd heard it several times before.
left- Planning for Hatiyah's civillian architecture.
Right- Same model as the first pic.
Left- dumbtarded Dustwing portrait. Unfinished squinty sakuranym_kit
Right- we went to the Van Wezel randomly instead of drawing the model we had that day...because tibetan monks were making a sand mandala..and damned if we were going to miss out on drawing that! Plus, it's deliciously meta to draw someone drawing. They move...fast. And often. So the first drawing got abandoned. I want to note that the noise their sand-channeling tools made was this amazing locust like hum.
And then I was like "Fuck that, I dont care if they move I'ma do something in color anyway!"..so this is ridiculous quick. Also I studied their clothing. I didnt do it justice, that red should be more burgundy except on the sash..but..this was like 5 mins. There is another study where I attempted to also paint the other students painting them, but, it's very gestural and much would be lost in the scan.
This lady's arms were weird. Actually her whole body was weird. I gave up on this one and did a portrait instead which you'll see later.
Left- After I mentioned the monks tovoidsiphonsaire 's father, he got really excited and said he had tickets to go see them on the night of their cultural exchange performance thing at the Van Wezel, and invited me to come with. Naturally, I surrendered my friday night and went. It was super cool, so cool that I didnt draw much of it XP Sorry guys. Anyway, the guy on the left was..ahhh crap I forgot his name. I remember Dana saying his name meant he was a reincarnated teacher or something- started with an R? ah XP sorry. Anyway that's his face. The other guy was playing one of the hyooooge telescoping horns while others sung. Very, very cool.
Right- Everything starts somewhere
Top- weird arm girl. I gave in and drew her arm normal. This is mostly an excise to play with the blue shadows.
Bottom- "Lost in the Moment" called for tattoos. I thought I'd be snazzy and draw out some in my SB, then scan and use them later. Buuut I ended up going with a Maori design that I came up with on the spot for the original piece.
Left- Reworking the Enush to be less organic.
Right- reworking their cable braids, and , Prydwen! Sorta. I'm bad at her. The addys etc. is a graduating senior I wanted to keep in touch with.
Left- a very confused Ahkanen, and a to-do list D:
Right- style practice for the freelance comic I'm doing. Sup, Mr. Darcy?
Left- Badguy planning for my ATLA comic. Soooo not final and in fact allready scrapped. His name is still Shogo though. Also? Anyone who says cartoons are easy to draw can eat a dick :( Simplified line is hard..but it's something I need to learn.
Right- I was making thumbnails for a group sig, but I didnt have my pencil with me and was thumbnailing with a brush and watercolor at the dinner table in a fancy resturaunt. So...naturally I turned the one leaping axe chick I'd started into part of a horde and drew some random guy. Apparently I have a thing for fragile men leading armies.
Left- my stepdad with his adorkable new glasses. It was sunset and we were drinking and talking, so, didnt get finished.
Right- grown up Foo Foo Cuddlypoops. No I'm serious. lol. It's in my style rather than the ATLA one, buuuut I also did it in the car on a somewhat bumpy road..hence the weird value structure. ankatheartcat later lent me a ballpoint pen to try to fix it with.
Some studies of Fiona from the freelance comic. This was before the author changed some stuff about the main character, so, these are obsolete. Crow quill /brush + ink though!
