I guess consider it stomach training for Christmas

Oof. I made a "gobbler pie" (shepherd's pie with turkey) for dinner and I overate. It was a crazy evening and so I didn't get to eat until after 8pm, sitting in front of the computer, and I just kept moving the fork from plate to mouth until I suddenly realized that I was stuffed. It was actually very good, but now I feel kinda icky.

I haven't been making planning posts on here but I've been trying to do at least one liturgical eating thing per week. Even just as simple as putting honey in tea for St. Ambrose (symbol: bee, because when he was a baby a bunch of bees landed on his mouth, foretelling his sweet words, and probably also foretelling his mother's heart attack. Somebody needs to do an Eddie Izzard/St. Ambrose mash up. "I'm not talking to your bishop. He's covered in bees!")

Anyway, December has too many good saints, and you're all crazed by the Christmas preparations, so it all turns into a blur if you're not careful.

This coming week, my big plan is to make a pizza bianca for the Immaculate Conception. Not sure yet whether I can get something together for Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Lucy. I really would like to do something for St. Lucy as I've loved the idea of it ever since reading about St. Lucy's celebrations in the American Girl Kirsten books. Not that I'm going to put a wreath of lit candles on Pippa's head. But I think it would be nice if a certain husband who usually wakes up before I do helped Pippa to do something that morning.

Hint hint.

food glorious food, liturgical eating
