people responsible for labeling also on drugs

Final word (hopefully) on Diclectin--I was speaking glibly of "Unisom" in previous entries, unaware that the brand name "Unisom" is used for two completely different drugs in the US and Canada. The active ingredient in Unisom in the US is doxylamine (the ingredient in Diclectin), whereas in Canada the active ingredient is diphenhydramine hydrochloride (Benadryl).

To make matters more confusing, "Unisom SleepGels" and "Unisom SleepMelts" in the US are diphenhydramine.

It just reiterates that you need to pay attention to the scientific name not the brand name when you go from country to country, although even THAT isn't fool-proof. Consider the dueling names for Tylenol, acetaminophen vs paracetamol, which has tripped up many a headache-y tourist.

DRUGS ARE COMPLEX MAN
