I appreciated reading the comments to my last entry re: nighttime fears, especially hearing that others experience similar things. It made me feel less alone and less pathetic

Re: being an advocate for your child(ren): that's so amazing. Hold onto that! My mom was always a fierce advocate for me and my siblings - she held the school accountable when I got bullied (and came in every day until the problem was solved), she fought like a wildcat to get my sister the learning disability accommodations that she needed, and was always ready to go to bat. It was embarrassing for me at times, but as an adult I really appreciate how hard she fought for her kids' safety, health, dignity, and education.
