Summary: Ugh, I used one of the prompts wrong, but it's too late now. Let's just pretend it says "Night turns into day" LOL. Anyway, this is about a girl who can't fall asleep.
I sat on the edge of my bed watching the night sky. It was dark and quiet and felt very alone. Even the wind that blew through the leaves and trees gave a lonesome howl. There was a storm brewing no doubt, and I would not have a chance to fall asleep.
I climbed back under the covers and pulled them up to my chin. My phone was sitting beside me on the pillow so I picked it up and found my contact list. His name was at the top.
It only rang two times before he picked up. "Hello...?" He sounded sleepy.
"Hi. It's me. I couldn't sleep." I curled into a ball on my side, cradling the phone against my ear. "Sorry I woke you."
He yawned. "It's okay. Is everything alright?"
"Yes, I think so. Though it looks like there's a storm on it's way. It's really windy. Oh, and I can't sleep."
"You mentioned that," he said. "Maybe you should make some tea or something. Then try to sleep."
"That might work..." I considered it, but I was so comfortable in bed, that I didn't want to get up. "What kind of tea?"
"I don't know. I'm not a tea person. Chamomile, peppermint, whatever doesn't have caffeine in it should be good."
"Oh. Yeah... I'm pretty sure I don't have any decaf tea."
He sighed. "Well, maybe you could get up, walk around a little, and then try sleeping again. Maybe you're just restless and you need to work it out before you try again."
The wind was still blowing outside, but there was a pink streak of light just above the horizon. "It's going to be light soon. I'm starting to see the sunrise."
"Close the curtains!" he said like it was an emergency. "Shut it out or you'll never sleep."
"Okay," I said but didn't get up. I only turned away from the window and rested my head back on the pillow. "What else could I do?"
