New hydrant

Sep 01, 2008 14:27

The last time I posted about our continuing water problems at the farmhouse, I noted that while we finally had consistent water pressure inside the house, the outside hydrant no longer had any water pressure. Great. The hydrant is the only outside water spigot, and I need to be able to provide water for my tenant farmers, let alone watering my own plants.

The local driller came out and determined that the hydrant was, in fact, broken. So at least it wasn’t a problem with the pump. He was able to fix it without destroying much of the concrete pad it is on, and now we have a new hydrant.

The new hydrant isn’t as picturesque as the old one; it doesn’t say “old farmhouse”, like the old one did. But at least it works. :-) Hopefully that will be the last of our water problems for a long time.
