Veggie confusion

I split a weekly share of vegetables from a local CSA (Sippel Family Farm) with two other people. Each week when the share arrives, two of us split it equally. One person rotates off each week, round robin style. According to our schedule, last week was supposed to be my week off, so I bought vegetables at the farmer’s market instead.

Turns out, though, that one of the other two ladies decided to switch her week with me, meaning that she would sit out and it would be my turn to split the veggie share. Except that neither of them told me! My share of veggies was still sitting in the work refrigerator yesterday, when CSA delivery day arrived again.

The upshot of all this miscommunication was that I came home yesterday with a lot of vegetables. So for dinner last night we had sauteed zucchini, green pepper, yellow summer squash, and tofu; pasta; with sweet corn (on the cob). What a delicious meal. The corn was so sweet I saved it for dessert!

I also made several sandwiches for today’s lunch with tomato, lettuce, and baked slices of eggplant and red bell pepper. (That’s almost an ELT, isn’t it?) I just ate one, and it was delicious. That’s good, ’cause I have three more.

Work has been really busy for the past three weeks, but I just moved a big bulk of work off my desk. Work should go back to an easier pace for a while.

I’m taking vacation tomorrow to pack for the Summerland ADF druid gathering, then Friday it’s off to Summerland for the weekend. With all that work completed, it’s a good time for a vacation.
