The performance yesterday was fun, but not a huge success. We were on right at the start of the smallish, afternoon-long fest. So there weren't many people there yet. Other than people associated with the performers, and event staff, the audience was a handful of people who had wandered off by the time we finished. That was disappointing, but I think we had fun anyway.

The rain that had been predicted moved through in the early morning, and the day was sunny. And hot. We were in folkloric costumes--fully-covering dresses and caftans--which had the advantage of limiting sun exposure, but were hot.

Amusingly, each soloist had a small snag in her performance, something that the audience most likely didn't notice, but that threw us each off. My mistake was in placing the third glass too close to the others, which meant that I didn't have a wide enough stance to balance on. I was in danger of losing my balance several times, and I didn't have a full range of motion in my hips. The real danger in dancing on water goblets is not in the glass breaking (walls of the glasses are pretty thick), but in losing your balance and having to catch yourself, or (worst case) fall off your perch.

After the performance, some of us ate lunch at the vegetarian Benevolence Cafe. I had spicy lentil soup and salad. Yummy. I rarely make it out to Benevolence, so it was a treat. Even the non-veg among us enjoyed it.

In the evening we headed over to gothpanda's for an impromptu game night. With a group of 8 people, there were rousing games of Apples-to-Apples, Pop 5 (a Cranium game), and Taboo. Fun! I really like word games.

I fed and pilled Patches when we got home at 11:30pm. About an hour and a half later she threw up. She threw up two more times during the night. The last, on the kitchen floor, contained water and a little blood. I'm worried it was because of her diabetes. I have had her on diabetic diet food for years and she's been fine. rfunk fed her at 6pm when we left, and she has been without food that long before and been okay. I just had her glucose checked and it was normal. Could the antibiotics be triggering the diabetes? Or maybe she allergic to them?

She was in good spirits this morning. I pilled and fed her as normal, and she has kept it down. She seems fine. I think I'll call the vet tomorrow and ask if he thinks I should bring her in. I'm relieved that she seems normal today, but I'm still worried. She's 16.

Now, though, I'm about to head out to do a bit of weeding. This afternoon rfunk and I will (finally) see Indiana Jones.
