More nattering about the Honda Fit: The one I bought is a sport model, with the power package. It even has power adjusters for the side mirrors, which is really nice, and something my Jeep Cherokee doesn't have. It plays mp3 CD's and has a port for an auxiliary player (like a tape player or mp3 player).
Here’s a neat thing that I haven't tried yet: even though it's an automatic, it has a "Shift" option that turns it into a manual. There are two little paddles on the steering wheel for upshifting and downshifting. But there’s no clutch. Pretty cool. I'll have to try that out.
My Jeep also doesn't have a CD player, just a tape player. The first CD I played on the Fit's CD player was Talking Heads Little Creatures. The lady don' mind at all.
My mechanic called me this morning. The Jeep has a broken heater control valve. The repair is under $250, so I told them to go ahead and do it. I guess I'll hang on to the Jeep a little while longer, and then I plan to donate it to the local public radio station.
