Checking my LiveJournal archives, I see that I have been taking glucosamine and chondroiten for 5 weeks now. I want you to know that sitting down no longer produces twinges of pain in my knees. This morning I knelt down to pick something up off the floor with an easy, smooth, graceful movement, and no pain. Glucosamine works!
Of course, my knees are also feeling better since I switched from my exercise bike to the elliptical machine. I have only had the elliptical for two weeks now but I love it! Just loooove it! Because it works more of my body than I was used to with the bike, I’m having to get used to it slowly. Sunday and Monday I pushed myself a little more than I have been, for 30 minutes and 20 minutes, respectively. I felt it yesterday, and I’m still somewhat sore this morning. But it’s the good kind of muscle soreness, the kind that lets you know you’re muscles are getting a good workout. Oh, sweet muscle soreness, how I have missed you! It’s good to have that "worked out" feeling again.
I’m still getting a twinge of pain in my shoulder, though, just at the edge of its range of motion when it is abducted or externally rotated. Less than a few weeks ago, but any pain is troubling. I think I may spend more time with ice packs and a heating pad, and see if that helps.
