Since 2005 my new year's resolution has been to maintain a consistent yoga practice. I have yet to make that happen to my satisfaction. Looking back over my LJ entries I find several entries each year announcing that I have "restarted my yoga practice", but they don't say what the practice consists of. Without a record my progress over time, I think I end up expecting faster progress than is reasonable, and I get frustrated.
So this year my resolution is slightly different: keep a yoga log to track my yoga practice. I'll note what yoga workout (or other workout) I do each day, and note any significant changes. I'll also make notes on particular workouts that I find helpful at particular times, such as coming back from injury or illness. I have actually already started keeping the log here in private posts*, and I'm excited about it. I'll make (more or less) monthly public posts of my progress as well.
I also have the typical resolution to lose weight, 20 pounds in my case. I've actually been trying to do this for a couple of months, but now that the holiday season is over I should hopefully have more success.
*If anyone is just dying to see the log, I suppose I could make a filter for it. I can't imagine it would be all that interesting, though.
