I'm just about all packed for my trip to NYC. Clothes, music, costume, all packed. Except for my makeup and jewelry. I just don't feel like figuring out which eyeliner and eyeshadow will go best with my costume right now. I'll do that in the morning.
Ever since I started belly dancing my makeup collection has grown from, like, nothing to multiples of everything. And it just keeps growing.
Somehow a moth got into my house. It's attacking my ear.
About the only thing left to do tonight is show my neighbor, who has kindly offered to look after the cats, how to refill the automatic cat food dispensers. But she is out shopping. My cats keep whining at me to feed them, but I want to wait until I can show Mickey the feeder business. I'm heartless, I know.
My plane leaves at 11:30 tomorrow morning. I suppose they are still suggesting that you get to the airport two hours early. The last time I flew out of Columbus, the security check took-I'm not kidding here-5 minutes. Still, I'll try to get to the airport by 9:30. I figure if I shoot for leaving here at 8:30 am, I'll actually leave at 8:45, which will get me to the ticket counter at 9:30, more or less. I am perpetually running late in the morning.
While I'm at the dance workshop, I will maintain the fantasy that I am a professional dancer, and that's all I do. I will (try to) forget that I know anything at all about geology, or about being a state bureaucrat.
