People who have issues with others swearing amuse and confuse me. I don't understand how the way i say something can be so offensive to someone. I mean, having sex and fucking are the same thing, but one way to say it is more acceptable. "That's Bullshit" and "That's a vicious fabrication" are the same thing, but one can't be said on public ( Read more... )

You should also notice how the people that denounce swearing don't have the vocabulary to make a more 'civilized' comment. Those of us wishing to insult the laymen find better results using so called vulgar language, because that is all they have the capacity to understand. Now, if it were two members of the intelligentsia, they would be more likely to use something like "You're a myopic, condescending, uncouthe imbecile"

Laziness also factors in, the laymen aren't learning, why bother to teach them?

One more thing, FUCK YOU ALL!

i don't have a problem with other people swearing, but i don't do it myself in normal conversation. that way, when i do swear like when i'm mad or something, its much more effective.

eh, I don't really understand it either. I think it's because actually saying those words is supposed to be really serious or something...*shrugs*

when my mom calls me a fucking bitch, it hurts a lot more than it would if she called me a "you are a myopic, condescending, uncouthe imbecile", but maybe that's because she has such a huge vocabulary...and when she resorts to such blunt 'curse' words known to everyone, is comes across as more harsh? I don't really know why.
