I think I posted about this book before. Read it. It's one of the best books you will read this year, if not ever.
Also you have to read it, so you can read Catching Fire, the second book in the series, when it comes out next month.
I got an advance copy at the ALA conference. I had put off reading it until yesterday because I had library books out and felt responsible to them.
I started it at lunch yesterday, I finished it at 2:30 this morning. This book, and it's predecessor, will grab you by the throat and not let go until you've read them. You will lose time, you will forget to eat, you will do whatever you can to keep reading.
They are that good. If every book aimed at young adults was written on this level you would all be fans of Twilight.
The idea that the final book in the trilogy only has a tentative release date of 2010 fills me with depressed frustration. There is no time to wait, Katniss is in trouble, I need to know what happens NOW.
