Why I think Aeris' death is the most overrated event in a video game ever

SPOILER ALERT!

I remember that I was hooked on Final Fantasy 7, and I marked out for Aeris' untimely death at the end of Disc 1. That was back in 1998.

Eight years later, I'm now playing FF5, to the point where Galuf still kept fighting ExDeath, even with zero HP, and after he died, Butz, Lenna, and Faris TRIED to revive him with Phoenix Downs, Life2, Cure3, etc., but he was still dead.

Which brings me to my original point; why I think Aeris' death is the most overrated event in video game history. Just to let ya know: I really don't hate Aeris at all.

Aeris just kneels there, praying for Holy, while Sephy impales her, and she was laid to rest in the waters next to the house.

As mentioned before, Galuf still kept fighting ExDeath, even with zero HP, and after he died, our heroes TRIED to revive him, but they were unable to.

Going into another game, Phantasy Star II, Nei was killed fighting her "mother", Neifirst, and from what I heard, Nei cannot be revived due to fact that she was half-monster.

Bottom line: Galuf and Nei had reasons why they cannot be revived.
