Irv, Lang, and Ash-mos are out on a wire, cosplay-toothed junkies all full of desire
l-a-n-g-e-r and I watched "The Princess and the Frog" last night. It was so cute! I wish I'd seen it in theatres, but alas, I was too poor to see it while it was still in theatres. Plus I could have been embarrassed to squee over it the way I did if I were in a public place. Really, so cute! ♥ I even liked Ray, the firefly, who ended up being one of my favorites though at first, I literally said to Mandy, "I hate bugs," and she said, "I hate comic relief bugs." We were dead-set on hating that little firefly. But he was so adorable that when he died, I cried like a bitch. I was like, "Oh, Ray, you're gonna be with Evangeline!" and all tearful, and Mandy was like, "That is so fucked up!" and, "Don't kill the little bug!"
Some tough guys we are, ne? Look how long we held onto our dislike of comic relief bugs in the face of a movie like that.
Today's realization: there's only one more day before spring break officially begins! I have a week before we leave for Seattle, which is next Thursday. That means tonight's goal should be to finish my Natalia bootcovers completely, including attaching the gold pieces.
Tomorrow's goals are to 1) maintenance Sandrock Custom, and 2) head to Ash's and finish wigs. She started Peony with me on Sunday, and Natalia needs to be cut quite a lot, since I bought a long wig rather than fighting to find a short wig with the right kind of curls. I've been putting off cutting Natalia till the end, and now I'm like, wow, I should have just done this ages ago since it's a simple cutting job on her, and not as simple on Peony. Oh, well. I'll know for next time!
I'll also be grateful to be working on a simpler costume, so I won't be grumbling to myself about last-minute fixes and bootcovers that look awesome but that Holly probably hates by now because I always need help getting them zipped.
But that's neither here nor there.
I've been listening to a lot of Cake recently, especially my favorite album, Comfort Eagle, since it has four of my five favorite Cake songs on it: Love You Madly, Comfort Eagle, Meanwhile, Rick James, and Short Skirt, Long Jacket (the other being Daria, which is on Fashion Nugget, I'm pretty sure). It first inspired me to go back and read an online GaixKakashi doujinshi I totally adore, and then it inspired me to sing annoyingly to my cat, and now it's just inspiring me to clog up my Last.fm and want to write fanfic to Cake songs. Damn my life. Why do I always think it's time to start some new project right when a con is creeping up on me?
I've also been listening to a lot of David Bowie and Stars, which must make you wonder what kind of nutter I am that I listen to this eclectic collection of music all at once. I promise you I'm a totally whackadoodle freakazoid. ^_~ Sometime soon, I'll have to do the music meme lelek just did in her LJ (though her music taste is better than mine, I think).
Meanwhile, Irvy takes her kitty for a snuggle, and there's nothing you can do, and there's nothing you can say to me to stop me. :B
