Update
Okay. We took the plates off of karabean's silver 2000 Taurus and swapped Singularity on to the insurance in its place. I went to my step-grandmother's funeral and managed to not get into a fight with my grandfather the Antichristian. This week has been maddeningly busy at work and that's just the stuff that I was able to do. I'm pretty sure that people will be annoyed by what didn't happen, but that wasn't my call and the people whose call it was really did have bigger fish to fry, so I'm not upset or anything.
Wednesday I got Singularity inspected while karabean was at her doctor's appointment and failed. Like red "R" failed, unsafe to drive, etc. Stupid hole in muffler. I panicked, poor karabean was stuck at Big Y and we had to bum a car off of larryboy again to get to work. So, I walked to Big Y, which is about a mile and karabean was there and we got chinese food with vu13 who gave us a ride home.
After that, ichisan came by to drive larryboy home after he brought his car by. Poor larryboy was really tired and he has his own stuff going on, but he's a really caring person. I'm hoping that ichisan drove him straight to bed. No stairs, just dropped him off at the matress.
Thanks to our neighbor, we found a mechanic who specializes in cheap, quick fixes that actually work. If you want his number, let me know. Under cover of darkness, vu13 and I snuck out and dropped Singularity off there and the guy had put in a new muffler by noon today.
Work today went crazy, lots of wire pulling and the air conditioners we ordered did not come with the plugs that the manufacturer's specifications said they did. That means that the a/c units don't fit the outlets that the electricians put in based on the specs! So anyway, lots of trying to coordinate a fix to that combined with banging holes in brickwalls and pulling wires through holes banged in brick walls. I ended up leaving early and I need to be in for 7am tomorrow so that the electricians can put in the new outlets.
Singularity passed inspection this time. His emissions were really low, helped along by a gallon of denatured alcohol in the tank. Poor larryboy's car is now leaking coolant, and vu13 and I are going to retrieve it from the mechanics (where I picked up Singularity) after dinner.
In theory, tomorrow karabean will leave work at about 3pm and we will go buy a Toyota Sienna CE thanks to a lot of monetary help from karabean's mom. Speaking of moms, today is my mother's birthday, and I'm not sure what to do. I can't really do much right now. :P
