Obligatory World Cup post
I seriously doubt that Germany will make it very far this time in Brazil and I have come to hate Public Viewing - so strictly speaking I should have nothing to do with the World Cup. Yeah, wrong. This is the country that switched airport TVs at the baggage claim to soccer during the last World Cup and that had the captain of my flight make an announcement about the running games while almost still in flight. So essentially, wherever you go, the game's running on some screen or other. It doesn't bother me that much, but I'm not that interested, either. My entire soccer knowledge has been acquired by osmosis, which means I can do quite a bit of small-talk.
Still, I can appreciate a great game if I see one - very nicely done, Netherlands. Some of those goals were pure work of art.
