Creative Writing Assignment #5(?) June 21, 2004

Jun 22, 2004 04:22

Often when writing rhymed poetry, we find ourselves falling back on the most rudimentary one of all, which we learned in elementary school and fear to stray too far from. Yes, I'm referring to good old ABABCDCD. But not this week.

First, I want you to think of a sentence or phrase in your head. it can be as long or as short as you like. Do you have it? No? Well, then think of one now before moving on.

Got it yet? good. Write it down. I'll be waiting.

Ok. That's your rhyme scheme. You will have a line in your poem for this week that has a line for each letter used in your sentence. And every time a certain letter in your sentence repeats, that line has to rhyme with every other line assigned to that letter. If it's sounds confusing, I'll post an example when I get home from work today.
