birthday wishes and some thoughts

wow... we're all like growing into adulthood and crap. i have a feeling you're going to do it alright, mister next valedictorian :-p

Speaking of playing adult, I'm quitting my job today, (woot). I'm going to take 17 units next semester, and it's not like I need the money, so I figure there's no reason to put it off any longer. And if I give my two weeks now that means I can be available the whole time my sister is home on leave, and have the whole month of January to fit in a trip to Iowa. I figure if I work next semester it will be as a tutor or reader for the college.

Today was one of the great ironies of the universe. My mom insisted that we all get up before 8 so we could drive out to the middle of nowhere (somewhere in the back country beyond Hollister) to cut down a Christmas tree. I originally protested this, using one of your arguments that we might as well get a tree that's already been cut instead of killing a new one, but my mother insisted and therefor we all got up at an ungodly hour. ...to drive 45 miles to buy... you guessed it, an already cut tree.
So now Sock is sleepy, but must soon consider getting ready for work. Thank God I'm quitting today or I might just take off someone's head. (I get cranky when I'm tired, but most of you ought to know this by now.)
Hm. Maybe I just need to get more into the Christmas spirit. Nothing accomplishes this more fully than a trip to the mall with less than 20 shopping days left. Anyone brave enough to accompany me?
