I got laid off yesterday. The whole team got canned. It happens. Actually I'm surprised it didn't happen a lot sooner. Even Sony notices the red ink eventually.
There seem to be quite a few people hiring right now, so it's not the end of the world. I am kind of annoyed though that they didn't let us go a week earlier. Instead of working on a dead project, I could have gone to GDC and networked with potential employers. I have some money saved up. I'd like to sit back and relax for awhile, but I'm the kind of person who stresses out when they don't know where the money is coming from. So the dreaded interview cycle begins...
