life is pretty good. i am excited about my senior year. figure i might as well write an lj entry for it.
1st (btw, apparently our school is going from 1-6 period now instead of 2-7, like we used to, so weird that 4th period is now lunch time) AP English w/ douglas. i haven't heard of anyone getting anyone other than her. i think she's the only one and she probably is very over-whelmed with all of us. hopefully this class won't be terrible though. she was really happy about mr. mansfield being a new principal. apparently he had a very organizing and optimistic inservice last week for the teachers.
2nd AP Euro history. normal, fabulous. he even extended summer reading due instead of tomorrow, to next monday. which is amazing because i hadn't started on it anyway. i will though. i like the people in my class too. interesting mix of people.
3rd AP Calc AB O man, ms. newman. she just kept going on and on about how she had a hard time in math class when she was in high school but she still became a math teacher because she loved it and resources and how logrhythm's are just exponents. i have a feeling there's going to be a lot of talking by her in this class. although that's not a bad thing because i just want an easy A and a good grade on the AP exam. both of which i think will be very attainable.
4th honors Play Production. people in class that i remember [we played the name game]: haneefah, carmen, dillon, chase, winston, lauren, sara, angela, taryn, miriam, andre otis, shamay?, ne, me, and lane will be in it too. that's close to everyone, but i forgot someone b/c we're 16 w/ lane i thought. i hope we do some group-building exercises soon. i want to feel like a family soon. we're small enough so that can totally happen.
5th AP French. o dude, so today m. bruneau was like we're going to try to speak all french everyday. of course today that didn't really work very well, but i think this will be very helpful. i'm excited.
6th AP Psychology. o fun. this is going to be an awesome class. i really like the people in it and i'm also excited about the content. not so much for the chapter on the areas of the brain, but for other stuff, def. psyched. i just wish mr. isom would speak up some. he talks very softly and i sit by the air conditioning and it's hard to hear. i think i'll try to move tomorrow but i don't want to steal anyone's spot.
ooo and at the end of 4th there was smoke in the first floor main building. never heard what was up with that but it started out w/ the fire alarms going off and "please disregard the bell" [this happens fairly frequently, fire alarms just randomly go off for no reason] and then they were like "we are aware that there is smoke on the first floor but it is not a fire!" but then they actually evacuated us and we stayed outside and the heat for a while. so that was interesting. it smelled like fireworks. like a burning chemical-y smell kind of. but not like a fire.
i crave for an intellectual conversation or debate. summer was kind of lacking on them.
