Ah Season 2!! The Season that I felt made the show better and better. This season had so much frigging heart, and laughs and awesome NPH-ness… he really should have gotten an Emmy for his performance in this season.
To be completely honest, I have a tough one deciding if I liked the episode when Lily Stole Christmas, or when they all went to Brunch, or Monday Night Football, or the aborted wedding in Atlantic City, or the wedding episodes, or moving day!!
However, my favourite from Season 2, after much deliberation is:
When Lily Stole Christmas
Cause Carter and Bays bothered to show us that the desertion had an effect on Ted too.
Cause Ted was a super-cool and supportive BFF as was Barney and they kinda slagged Lily off as the Brits would say.
Cause Ted and Lily solve their fights with a pint of beer.
Cause Lily called Ted ASS-FACE.
Cause Robin defies her tough exterior and nurses Barney while he's sick.
Cause it's yet another subtle reason why these two belong together.
Cause Marshall is just adorable with his childish love for Christmas.
AND
World’s Greatest Couple
Cause it spawned a thousand and one fanfic ideas in the fandom.
Cause it's the only pairing that is more awesome than Barney/Robin and Lily/Marshall on the show.
