Last Post Before 25
Tomorrow is my birthday, but I have to work (A has the day off, the meanie) so we're going to a movie tonight in observance of the holiday. We'll also do dinner or something tomorrow night. We're seeing Babel and I'm really excited cause it's been on my list a long time.
What have I been doing the last few days, you ask? More of the same. Movies, movies, movies. I did apply for a job at Hollywood Video to make extra cash on the weekends and a night or two a week. Things are simply too slow at AMV now, so a second job's a must.
After seeing the Altman movies at IFC, I started downloading torrents of new movies I haven't been able to see, or that I simply can't afford. I feel awful doing it, but I also do spend a large amount of my income supporting the industry. It's not like I only download things. Anyway, I watch them and then delete them, so I don't take up a ton of space on my computer, and so that no one can dl them from me. I have The Queen, Flags of Our Fathers, and Happy Feet, all from DVD screeners to watch still, and should have Apocalypto soon (which I'm glad to steal, cause Mel Gibson doesn't deserve a cent for any of his work.)
What have I seen in the last week? Well, anyone (and they're few) who has cinemark in the fl, will know it's been a ton. Others should know that the list includes: We Are Marshall, The Illusionist, , Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom, Popeye, Fire, California Split, Vincent & Theo, Don't Tell, Little Children, Blood Diamond, The Crossing Guard, etc, et al, ad infinitum.
I'll start cross-posting my weekly listing here for everyone who doesn't want to get every review on their friends-page, but might want to discuss a movie or two a week based on what I've seen and reviewed.
Other than watching movies, I really, seriously, have done very little else this week. We finally planned the party and sent out evites. We cleaned a lot. Boring stuff like that.
I guess I'll post again tomorrow as a 25 year-old.
