Movies, Shortbread Cookies, And Sod

Lots of fun has been had lately. The weather in Boonie Land has been mainly rainy, to the point of small flooding.  It is mildly exciting.  The other day the weather was fab, and so hot and sunny, my neighbours came over and helped us with yard work in our backyard.  Thats when the fun began.  I shovelled pea gravel until my legs felt numb from squatting.  Four days later and I still have trouble sitting down on the toilet.

Here is a picture of me slaving away while looking completely ghetto and enjoying every bit of it:

Hehehe, how I love that picture. I had so much fun laying sod.  I should get a job doing it.  Or not.

I also tried to make shortbread cookies. Emphasis on the tried.  What a bummer they were, I can never get them soft and sweet enough.  I had beginners luck with my first batch, and then it was all down hill.  And unfortuntely, my only other testor has lost her tastebuds, my mum (hopefully only temporarily, although she swears its permanently because its been so long).  Well hopefully my baking career hasn't been stubbed by the failure of my shortbread cookies.  I have until Christmas to figure out the perfect consistency.

Rainbow Time

This is the rainbow in my backyard, it went down so low. This is the second rainbow I have seen so far in Saskatoon! They are very very exciting! And no, thats not my house underneath it, its my shed. I don't live in a shack, I promise. Just cuz i live in boonie ville...doesn't mean...

In other news, I watched a lot of movies this week.  And applied to Rogers Video.  On the application I enjoyed the part that asked who would make a better customer service representative, and it offered options such as Ben Kenobi, other Random movie Characters, and Alfred the Butler.  So having known who none of them were, I know its sad, I had to do some googling.  After much research I choose Alfred The Butler.  Who doesn't love Batman. Its really so silly how I had to look him up (no i still don't know who the other characters are).  I would be a failure as a Video store employee.  But i am good at watching movies.  I really enjoyed Hotel Rwanda, it had such compelling actors.  It was a very emotional movie, however, and I had to pause it in between.  Well, my next door neighbour showed up, so that required pausing of the movie.  It was welcomed though. Among that movie, I watched "The Final Cut" (bad ending), "The Forgotten" (Good ending), and "The Incredibles" (Not as good as Finding Nemo).

And that my friends, has been my week in short.  The boonies are fun, come join me and have some boonie fun!

Big Wet Kisses to you ALL!
