Okay, I had thought of this before, and recently
13chapters wanted ideas on something to write but not within her own writing because she hates Soccer Shorts for whatever reason (she is insane for that statement alone) and hasn't finished her big AU yet ... so

"What kind of dress code does this thing have?" Jensen wants to know. "Should I keep this on?" He's still wearing his suit and tie from work.
"As sexy as you look in that suit, you'd be the most overdressed person there," Jared tells him. "These people are college students and they're engineers. They can barely get two matching shoes on in the morning." Jared is wearing jeans, a flannel button down, and sneakers, and given that he's slouching on the couch, eating chips and salsa and watching a rerun of Buffy on FX, he doesn't appear to be planning on changing before they leave.
Jensen wanders back to the bedroom to try and find something that will match his date. He ends up with dark jeans and a black polo shirt and a pair of loafers. He can't bring himself to wear sneakers to an actual event.
Jared eyes him thoughtfully when he comes back into the living room. "I guess you'll do," he finally says.
Jensen feels a bit insulted. Jared laughs loudly.
"I'm just teasing you, babe. You always look smoking hot." He pulls himself to his feet, and plants a quick kiss on Jensen's lips. "Now we gotta go or there won't be any food left."
As it turns out, Jared isn't kidding. College students are shameless when it comes to free food.
Jensen isn't quite sure what to do with himself. He's only a few years older than Jared, who has been going through school slowly, working part time, but he feels ancient next to some of these kids wandering around the banquet hall, gossiping loudly in between stuffing their mouths with pita and hummus and stuffed mushrooms. It's supposedly a nondenominational party, but there are cookies in the shape of Christmas trees, too.
Jared had left him alone to go to the bathroom and then he'd disappeared. Jensen is on the verge of calling him when he spots him in the corner, looming over a tiny girl who's looking up at him with veritable stars in her eyes.
He heads over.
"Oh, baby, there you are," Jared says happily, when Jensen wraps his arm around his boyfriend's waist.
"Hey," Jensen says. He turns to the girl. "Hey."
"Hey," says the girl. She's trying to not look disappointed, Jensen can tell.
"Jen, honey, this is Allie. She's been in a lot of my classes, we're on similar tracks. Allie, this is my boyfriend, Jensen."
"It's nice to meet you," Jensen says. She smiles and tells him that it's nice to meet him, too. Still, she heads back to the dessert table after only a minute of polite chatting.
Jared laughs. "You were jealous!"
"No, I wasn't!"
"Oh, yes you were."
"Maybe a little," Jensen admits. "She likes you, I can tell. I know what it looks like, so I can tell," he adds when Jared makes a scoffing noise.
"You sayin' you like me?" Jared teases him.
"Maybe a little," Jensen agrees. Jared leans over and kisses him on the temple.
"I like you a little, too."
