the graduate

Hello, dear readers!

I'm done with college.  Yay!  There's a pic of my sister and I at the ceremony on my user info page.  It was actually a really nice ceremony.  I got sunscreen in my eye, which stung, so one of my eyes was kind of red the whole time.  Oh well.  The speeches were short and decent (esp. the last guy who got an honorary degree, Doug Smith, who talked about choosing happiness.  I wish I'd gotten to take his WT class.)  Yep... so, yay!  And I was happy the whole time, and I'd worried I wouldn't be.  Throughout most of my DePauw years, I'd expected graduation to get its meaning from the friends I had, but since I'm no longer friends or at least not close friends with several of them, I'd worried it would be kind of an empty celebration.  But no, not at all.  I was genuinely happy.  I was happy for myself and for what I've done, and the opportunities I have.  I was happy for the four years I spent with a variety of wonderful people- professors, staff, and students.  I was happy for my true friends and for the people I admire and enjoy.  I was happy for President Bottoms.  It was a really nice graduation. :)

So now I'm home, plotting my next move.  Some things are popping up, but I'm not going to write about anything until things are more certain.  They might be as soon as this week... we'll see.  In the meantime, I'm seeing people, chilling at home, and working at Bath and Body Works as always.  Good times.  That's all for now!

XOXO, Kati
