Just a quick note to say, I am reading Sigrid Nunez's The Last of Her Kind right now, and it is very, very good. Amanda, if you're looking for a book to read right now, I think you would especially like this one. It's the story of two female college roommates at Barnard in the late sixties. It's one of those nice, hearty stories where you really feel like you get inside the characters and their various relationships. It's also the kind of story that I like because it follows the main character even after she drops out of college, wherever her life takes her, brings back old characters from her past, etc. The author also does an excellent job of capturing the sixties (like I know what I'm talking about...like I was there, haha). But yeah. I look forward to my lunch hour every day just so I can read more!
