I think it is about time I revealed the results of my older polls. I would be interested in hearing people's thoughts on them ( Read more... )

Hmm, so the two to three month mark was the most common length then among those you surveyed? I am curious what the follow up would look like now.

Mmm...Another poll on this subject is something that I should consider.

I have to say that I am curious if those who were here for two to three months are still in the City.

Maybe you'll get a better turn out if you follow up on that poll. If this was taken in August then I am sure the population has shifted. Hell I wasn't even here in August.

It is not impossible to keep current information on the City populace but it is time consuming.

The population shifts every other week. Changes over a month alone can be...phenomenal.

From what I am learning of the City time is something we have in abundance. However I am sure you're right that the shifts would make the polling taxing.

Have you considered doing a month of polling on a certain aspect of the City and then see how the trends shift for just that month?

I have studied curses over the course of a single month to try and find patterns but had limited success. One month alone where curses stand is not enough. Over time I have noticed subtle patterns, however.

The same may be true of the Citizens, if I took the time to poll them every week. My own observations suggest the duration of our stay is based on our activity within the City.

That might suggest the City has no need of deadbeats in that case. I'd actually like to hear about your findings on curse patterns when you have the time.

Forgive my manners by the way. I'm Bill.

It seems to have needs for deadbeats with friends. Employment does not mean a person stays. But if a person has found some sort of personal niche somewhere then they are less likely to be sent away.

In other words something that keeps them anchored to the City be it people or an occupation?

A pleasure to meet you, Ryuzaki.

Yes. Precisely.

I have seen that some people this place has a draw. And the idea of being reunited with loved ones that have passed away is certainly another draw.

Have you polled about how many in the City are living and how many shuold rightfully be dead?

I have. "Should be dead" has two meanings, however. In the eyes of some it means that somebody they know to be dead is here but still alive because they were taken from a different point in time. To others it refers to the dead who walk in the City with no pulse.

My poll applied to the latter.

Hmm, what was the result from that poll then?

Reply

dubia_lux November 3 2007, 03:16:07 UTC
Dead
13 (24.5%)

Alive
32 (60.4%)

Alive upon arrival, killed in the City
4 (7.5%)

"Life" and "Death" do not apply
6 (11.3%)

These results are not completely accurate as this poll had check-boxes and a few checked all of them, even the mutually exclusive ones.

I still need to go back over the data and rectify this issue. You can thank troublesome Citizens for making my life more difficult.

Well some just like to disregard instructions in general.
