Let's hear it for car pooling. Siglinde wasn't sure she wanted to go to Autocrats Day Off, so she offered someone a ride to give herself a commitment to go. I was committed to going, but since I hate the event, the site, and camping in general, I could have seen myself put off going up and put it off until I wasn't showing up until 5 or 6 PM. Instead, I'm car pooling with Siglinde and I'll be there by 2. Car pooling - not just good for the environment, but an anti-procrastination drug too. :)
For some reason, I was on the Ealdormere web page this week and, since I was there, looked at upcoming events. 2 caught my eye:
1) A dance event on October 3 (and since it isn't in Kingston, I might have a chance to actually go) :)
2) something called "Bardic Madness" on October 10
Of course, it all depends on site fee, details of the event, and what I'm doing that weekend. It would be extremely decadent for me to go to both. However, if I'm only going to two events between Bowstrings and Hare, it isn't really excessive. It would just be odd and decadent since they are back to back.
The October 10th one is Thanksgiving, which at first I thought was odd, but could potentially work since no one ever wants to do anything the day before Thanksgiving. It's in Kitchener. I have two friends who live in Southern Ontario, but I'm not sure if I could crash with either. I also can't remember if they live in Kitchener or Guelph or Waterloo and I'm not clear on the travel times between each anyway.
