We had a canton meeting today. Nothing terribly exciting to report. We may move to a cheaper site, but that will be voted on at the next meeting.
I announced my upcoming poetry night.
I raised the issue of how we are going to handle Autocrat's Day Off in the future, but by then it was 5:20 and no one cared - so it is tabled until January.
I officially asked for a volunteer to co-run SCA days with me. It gets stressful to absolutely have to be at every meeting.
Cristabell and I talked about Commedia. Personally, I'd be happy if we stopped aiming for 12th Night, started aiming for Practicum and converted all of our SCA days into Commedia practices. That would kill two birds with one stone.
At the end of November, my SCA accomplishments are that I went out and did archery once. I did not find the time to sew once and I went to a mediocre Hare where I met none of the newcomers I've been corresponding with and no one thought to introduce any to me. Not my best SCA month.
The future looks better. Poetry night should be cool and I have a potential idea to improve our bardic group. I discussed something with Gabrielle tonight. I am going to keep my archery up. And I will make time for costuming in December. Doesn't look like A&S is going to restart any time soon, so I may use at least one of my free Tuesdays in December to sew.
Best of all, I think I am finally getting realistic. I have only a limited amount of time for the SCA and if I use that time to do draggy stuff that I dislike, then it just wears me out and makes me resent the SCA. I am trying to figure out how to get rid of some of the commitments that I have so that I will have more time to pursue things that I am passionate about.
