yay monkey day
I got to see Jane Goodall speak at a school today! It was awesome. I sat right behind her while they presented their school. I wanted to touch but I didn't. I guess it would have been creepy of me. But then I'm sure she wouldn't have minded *___* She has such a presence about her! She is amazing.
I thought it was going to be the school presenting Jane Goodall's awesomeness but it started with the school presenting themselves to her. Boring and a bit self centered. She was great with her speech and told them all about how if everybody in the world got to live in the affluence that they do then we would need four brand new planets to sustain that level of life. She gave quite a lecture but was still sweet and understanding. She lamented her short amount of time to speak (they seriously talked about themselves as long as she talked about helping others! A half hour is not enough for that woman to speak! She made everybody feel like crap, which considering the part of town I was in, that was great. She told them to all bring their clubs back to Roots and Shoots instead of them all being separate.
She is going to be at the zoo tomorrow but I am sure that it will be a madhouse. And she is going to be 75, I don't know if I want to be one more person making her sign a book. I do, so I guess it is a crowd issue.
