midnight bordumb ramble

Mar 10, 2009 23:40

Ugh. I got conned into watching my parent's animals over my work's spring break. Conned and lied to and manipulated into staying longer than agreed; which upsets my work schedule. Luckily work is understanding I guess. I hate subbing kids out though. I'm scared they'll realize I have no clue as to what I'm doing ^_~

So don't bother reading this if you don't want. I'm just venting because I've been stuck in the country with minimal human contact for almost a week. And that human contact didn't encourage me to have more. Hell today I just had to get out of the house, I had enough of being cooped up, but with one store visit I decided I had enough of being around these bumpkin fools and had to go home. **claws eyes**

categorized for convenience.

Dogs:
These dogs are beastly. They have 6 now and none of them are well behaved. The worst is, of course, the bloodhound. I'd grabbed some food at the store on my first day and was putting it away, the next day I could not find the burrito covers I'd gotten. He ate them, bag and all. How do I know? Well he is allergic to everything and the reaction is severe bloating (and explosive constant gas) I think I saw on animal planet that bloodhounds are prone to bloat...
Anyway. The whole night before I even realized he stole the tortillas gone was disgusting. He looked like a dog that had been dead for a week. I am not exaggerating when I say that his stomach expanded ten times its size. I patted his belly and it sounded like a basketball. And today he tore apart the kitchen when I left for maybe half an hour. He pulled all of the dishes out of the sink. They were rinsed off. There was no food on them. He took them all out anyway. Luckily I had gotten home before he got into the cabinets, because I forgot to tie and lock them all shut. I hope he ate a knife.
I've been keeping them all outside all day, since the weather has been nice. They bark constantly and act like fools when they aren't sleeping or trying to sneak off for a naughty poo in the house. Too bad they can't stay outside constantly. My parents really need to get rid of half (or all) of them. They might not be so bad if they got individual attention. The mastiff is okay. She's not bad, she's just not trustworthy around other dogs. But then again I'm getting snappish and cranky and ready to shake these dogs to death too. I can't blame her. I feel bad for her. I know they would let me take her but she has attacked smaller dogs and there is no way to tell if that is circumstantial or an actual aggression problem. And she is just too big to find out the hard way. She is a poor baby.
Nyssa has been crazy and demanding to go home. She keeps flipping out and running to the garage door and touching the doorknob. Last night she intently sniffed my computer bag then grabbed a strap and started pulling. She is way too old for that puppy stuff, so I don't know what her deal was. Touching my stuff like that. It was like she was saying "Okay! I got your bag! Let's go! I'll help! LETSGONOW!!!"

Cats:
The cats have been super sweet. I even got to see Miss Pixie, my high-strung high school kitty that I have not seen in over a year. She allowed me to pet her with only a little bit of hissing. She just gets nervous. Frankie hasn't pawed and shaken my door all night long either. Thank goodness something in this house is behaving... I mean... it's not my laundry I have to be worried about. :)

Horses:
The horses are fine enough. They only have 6 of those now. Old man Rocket is going to be 28 this April. He's looking his age (hope I'm not too) and I'm sure he won't make it to 30. I'm mad that my parents haven't brushed their damned horses manes all winter. They are going to need a good brushing overall, but I'm not feeling gracious. I did brush some manes. I may cut rocket's, but then again it probably won't grow back. So out of the 6: 3 aren't trained for riding (2 are too young), 1 is too old, and the other 2 are typical Arabs, which means stupid flighty jerk faces.
I like the young horses in the back field. Bernie's not too bad for an Arab. He has a great temperament. He let me pester and braid and comb and hug. Baron is already a hand taller but a year younger. He is not an Arab and I am in love with him *__* I braided his mane while he ate and the braids were always picked out by the time the next meal rolled round. I'm sure Bernie helped, he must have been jealous but his mane is just not as long and pretty.
Baron was a bit nervous but not skittish. That's the main reason I pestered him the most, he doesn't need to get all flighty from not getting socialized. That and because he was a slow eater and I didn't want Bernie to eat his food. He's the only horse I want to ride out of all of those, but he's barely a year old so not able to be ridden yet. He's still got a LOT of growing to do. God I hope my parents to ruin him like they did their other horses... and dogs.... and kids <.<
So while feeding I felt real clever and decided to climb through the fence instead of using the gate. I'm convinced the horses will figure out that all they have to do is gang up and bum rush me the second I open the gate. Well, they couldn't because I know how and when to open a gate, so I will admit that it is an unreasonable fear. Anyway. Me so clever. However! Two days into this ordeal and I notice my thighs are all bruised from climbing through the wire. And then today I felt even more so super clever when I tripped halfway through the fence and got all tangled up like a fish in a net. Wire really bruises like crazy! I've got huge ugly bruises everywhere. I'm going to tell everybody I got attacked by a horse.

Me:
I brought a bunch of stuff to be super productive. Have I been? Let us see:

I finally figured out how to tune my banjo an hour ago, thanks to expertvillage.com. But I need to make the beau take it back for fixing or replacing. There's an obnoxious metallic hum in the middle string. Numerous people have told me that means something is bent. I keep forgetting what that something is. I still know my one roll, but I guess I should try to learn an actual song. I should find Rainbow Connection banjo tabs :) My banjo has not moved since Friday night though... so I can't say I've been productive with that.
I haven't touched my paints and sketchbooks even though I brought all of my favourite medium. I've been too agitated and there's no good space to work around here. The bloodhound would probably eat it all anyway. I have had a constant headache since I've been here and I just don't think I could art well at all.
I need to make grades before Monday (my optic nerve hurts from the eye rolling whenever I think about it) I'll do that Thursday when I have a huge gap due to spring break hours. *sigh* work.
I haven't scanned anything either, even though my dad has an okay scanner. Hell this is my second to last day and I just now pulled out my computer. I even brought my portable hard drive to back stuff up, and never touched it. I brought random other little things because I knew I would want to ignore something *cough*work*cough* but I haven't really touched anything.

What have I done? Well I did figure out how to bring my Zelda save file over and I've almost beaten it. Woo. Go me. I've read two and a half smutty romance novels. LOL@silky mound. And... well... that's it. Since Friday night. It's like being here just makes me want to be unproductive out of spite or something.
I do have to be productive tomorrow, I at least need to do laundry to get hay and hair off of my clothes. And pack the car early. I should go to sleep I guess. And not read smutty romance novels all night. Again. And I wonder why I have a headache ^__^;;

The End
