Ciao, Vatheon~!
[ Have a perky journalist, guys. She's smiling at the screen. ]Seems like the influx of newcomers has stopped as predicted, huh? I'd like to take the time to say "hi!" to everyone here, new and old, if we haven't already met. I'm Maya Amano, and it's nice to meet you! Things can get a little hectic here, though it's mostly a nice

Maya! So, you know about Akihiko-senpai, huh...?
She pauses for a moment. This probably should not have been terribly surprising to her, but nevertheless, she feels compelled to ask anyway.
...and it was just before we all got to talking, too...
Reply
Yeah, I'm sorry about it. I actually really wanted to talk to him, since from what I know, he's a boxer like my friend Ulala-chan... who's also a Persona user.
[ She shakes her head, though. ] How're things going otherwise, Yukari-chan?
Reply
She smiles a little.
I've been all right. Minato-kun took me around the city today, just to show me around a bit so I could get my bearings. We also picked up some stuff for my room, you know, since it was pretty boring before. I feel...
She scratches her head a little. She doesn't know why she still hesitates to admit it, but nevertheless, she is.
I guess I feel more at home now.

[ Her smile brightens to full now; no bad news. That's good. ]
Seems to me like a lot of you guys are actually pretty well-trained! I feel kind of inadequate now, compared to you guys! You must be loads more organized than we ever were.
[ She isn't sure she wants to imagine the brawl that'd break out over popularity if Lisa heard about Akihiko and decided he held nothing to her Chingyan... ]

In a way, she supposes SEES has gotten pretty good at what they did, over the past year or so. Akihiko's punches had been getting more accurate and devastating; her arrows were hitting their targets more. But really, it was all in the name of duty.
No one else had the power of Persona, right? They had to step up.
She laughs a little. An insecure Maya. That doesn't seem like her!
Oh, come on! I'm sure you guys did just fine. The world's still here for us to save, ten years later, after all.
She sighs a little in exasperation, though her expression is still amused.
Did your team have a name?
Reply
[ She isn't insecure so much as joking a little bit, but this does make her a little melancholy. Ahhh, the Masquerade. ]
Although if you heard that what we were fighting against at first, if I told you, it'd be SUPER confusing! Man, our team was a big mess until towards the end... even then, it took Jun-kun a very long time to come back to us as himself...
[ She shakes her head. ] It's a long story, but I guess you could say we were the Masquerade! It's a little childish, but technically there isn't much of an official name, or anything.
Reply
Oh, well, no worries. I was just curious, really. You don't need a team name, anyway, to know that you're family, right?
Although she has to admit, Masquerade sounds kind of cool! They've already talked about all this, of course; and in fact, Maya was the one who was assuring her about this notion of family. She certainly doesn't need to be told twice, so Yukari decides to shift the focus to something else instead.
...anyway, I'm glad to hear your creativity's still been going strong. Next month, huh? She grins, looking a little excited to read a teen-written magazine, a luxury which she has not enjoyed in a while. Have you had any good responses yet?

[ She smiles brightly. ] And family means that Maya-nee has Yuka-chin's back!
[ No one is escaping these nicknames. Everyone called her that, so she may as well be everyone's big sis. ]
That's the hope! Luka-kun's helping me with the photos since I don't have Yukki-chan around, and I've heard some interesting things over the network already~ Not particularly call-wise after this, but we'll see! I've got my ears and my mic ready for the next big scoop that heads my way. But hopefully it won't be dinosaurs again.

She pauses for a moment, still smiling. She doesn't seem to mind the nickname at all, actually; she'd even managed to get used to Junpei's Yuka-tan, after all, so she carries on like she hasn't even noticed.
A hand goes on her chin, and she looks like she's deep in thought...
...so, you're... you're looking into dreams, too, huh? Do you do that cool supernatural thing where you tell people what they mean?
She forces a giggle out for that last question, but...her expression is actually kind of serious.
Reply
N-no, Yuka-chin. Well... you told me about your family, you know? When I was little, I promised I'd become a reporter who could help other people work towards granting their dreams... like my father.
Which is why I want to know, because... I think everyone has a dream. If you don't, then I want to help people find one! If you do, I want to do what I can to help people reach them... that's all. I'm not psychic or anything... sorry!
[ She tacks the apology on as a last second sort of thought, clasping her hands together as if in a sincere gesture, joking as she may be. ]
Besides, if you wanted your fortune told, you'd have to go to Jun-kun for that. It's really a shame he's not here, you know? He and Mina-chin could be doppelgangers too... I was pretty surprised.

Hahahaha oh those dreams! Yukari can't help but smile at this, especially with that adorable mental image of Maya trying to brighten the world, little by little. She's still a little embarrassed, though, at the slight misunderstanding--she totally knew what kind of dreams you were talking about okay, she was just testing you. 8(
...sorry. Guess I was thinking a little too literally there. It's... it's just that it's been on my mind lately, I guess.
I mean...before I came to Vatheon, I never really had any dreams--or at least, not ones that I remembered. And now...I feel like I have one every night.
...she can't seem to decide if this is a good or bad thing.

[ He died when she was little. Yes, Yukari, she can understand it quite a bit. There's a pause where Maya looks contemplative. Don't feel bad, she makes those silly mistakes all the time. ]
Well... I'm no therapist, but that probably means something? What sort of dreams are they?
Reply
She hesitates a little, looking away from the screen for a moment in nervousness. She bites down lightly on her hand--maybe she can lie, make up something. She doesn't want her to worry over nothing, after all--they're just dreams! ...but no, she can't do it.
They'd finally started to trust each other; it wouldn't be fair to keep secrets now.
J-just stuff with my dad, really. He's...he's been gone for so many years now; I don't even think I dreamed about him after it first happened, but...hah, I guess I must miss him.
She forces a chuckle, though her voice is cracking a little, and her eyes are looking just a liiittle watery...
Always stuck in the past. Pretty lame, right?
Why can't you have dreams and aspirations for the future like normal teenagers, Yukari? :\

[ There's a thoughtful nod here. ]
I think it just means your life really lacks an adult figure, Yuka-chin. ... But that's alright, I aim to make up for that! For all of you guys. Haru-chin, and Ken-chan, and Mina-chin, too. Because you guys all deserve that.
We're all a little bit in the past. It'd be weird if we didn't think about it sometimes.

Yukari looks a little bit shocked. Not that it's the first time she's known someone with a missing parent like her--Ken-kun, Minato-kun, and of course Mitsuru-senpai--but it's still comforting, in a way, to hear it. She feels a little selfish, though, a trait she's still trying to get rid of.
...I'm sorry. I didn't mean to... to bring it up. Maybe you're right, but...I think I tend to think about it more than most.
A light, somewhat dismissive chuckle. Maya-nee... she's beginning to feel a little like the older sister she never had. Maybe she's right after all...it's not like Ikutsuki was the best figure to look up to. And some of Gekkoukan's teachers were more like children than they are.
Those memories, at least, are fond; the time she spent in the classroom, with Minato, Aigis, Junpei. She learned from them, too; and she has hope that her time with Maya would be equally precious.

[ She just smiles. ]
You're young... like I said, I'd be worried if you didn't think about it. It's not easy when someone so important is missing from your life, you know? You said it yourself, after all! You deserve better than what you're getting.
[ There's a pause, as she thinks here. What to tell her...? ]
It's not much, but maybe I can help fill that gap a little bit. Even if it's only looking out for you and the others, I've always wanted to make sure kids like you have a good example to follow. Since my father was really dedicated to his job... but he couldn't balance his family life well because he was always away, corresponding on wars...
[ She looks pretty determined here, despite her smile. ]
Which is why one day I'm going to do what he couldn't; balance my work and a family. Of course I don't have one yet--I'm really married to my job!--but that's alright. I'm not looking. I'm pretty content with the family I have here, in you and in Tatsuya-kun and the others, too.
