Ciao, Vatheon~!
[ Have a perky journalist, guys. She's smiling at the screen. ]Seems like the influx of newcomers has stopped as predicted, huh? I'd like to take the time to say "hi!" to everyone here, new and old, if we haven't already met. I'm Maya Amano, and it's nice to meet you! Things can get a little hectic here, though it's mostly a nice

[ She just smiles. ]
You're young... like I said, I'd be worried if you didn't think about it. It's not easy when someone so important is missing from your life, you know? You said it yourself, after all! You deserve better than what you're getting.
[ There's a pause, as she thinks here. What to tell her...? ]
It's not much, but maybe I can help fill that gap a little bit. Even if it's only looking out for you and the others, I've always wanted to make sure kids like you have a good example to follow. Since my father was really dedicated to his job... but he couldn't balance his family life well because he was always away, corresponding on wars...
[ She looks pretty determined here, despite her smile. ]
Which is why one day I'm going to do what he couldn't; balance my work and a family. Of course I don't have one yet--I'm really married to my job!--but that's alright. I'm not looking. I'm pretty content with the family I have here, in you and in Tatsuya-kun and the others, too.
[ Here, she takes out a little handmade bunny. ]
Besides... if I was sad, then the bunny would just laugh at me! Hop, hop!

Hah. I think we can relate... all of us. I may not have been the leader, but...
She thinks for a moment, on their lives back in Iwatodai. Going to Tartarus, training each month; sometimes Minato worked them hard. She remembers how stressful it could be, during exam time, and how she wished so much that their nightly gallivanting would excuse them--especially on the exam weeks that seemed to coincide with the full moon.
I think we all know how tough the balancing act can be, right? School, friends...and the world... it can take a lot out of you. I guess it's just about priority...and not everyone can deal with it.
My dad...he was kind of the same way, really. He was busy a lot...working with the Kirijo Group, and he apologized to me all the time for it. She swallows, remembering the video of him Fuuka touched up for her, and the letter she wrote for her. ...but you know, I don't think I ever held it against him.

Awwww, it's so cute! Did... did you bring that from home?

[ She hasn't stopped smiling, though. ]
He told me that if I ever cried, it would laugh at me, to cheer me up. It's a little beat up, but I think it's still got some charm. I always carry it with me.

[ She smiles. ]
Even if it's hard, Yuka-chin... that's what brought you guys together, right? I'm sure you feel the same way about your team.

She's impressed, that's for sure. She always did wonder what it would be like, if she joined a crafts club with Fuuka instead of the Archery Club.
I don't think it's too beat up, either. A smile. Does it have a name?

[ She makes it hop a little bit, then giggles. ]
I'd be happy to teach you! I'm terrible at any other kind of domestic skills, to be honest... I can't sew clothing well, but I can sew little plushes. But ever since I started work, I haven't had the chance to make anything... Ulala-chan actually puts my make-up on for me...
[ There's a bit of an embarrassed laugh here. ]
I actually got my entire outfit for one Yen once! You don't make a lot on the lower rungs, so you can bet I've been loving the money thing here!

She grins. Okay, she's really good with make-up, and basically fashion-related trends in general...but, no need to brag, right? So she just leaves it at that, and nods.
But yeah, I'd love to learn. I can't really make clothes from scratch either, buuut hey. It's something we could try! I've sorta been thinking about things to do while I'm here, so...learning new skills, trying new things...
It's like that feeling you get, when you move into a new house and you run around, opening all the doors.
And she giggles at the last comment. As a shopper, of course, saving money is always a good thing worth mentioning and talking about.
I guess it is pretty convenient, huh?

Oh! Well...
[ Pffft. ]
I-I'm not THAT bad at it, but it does take me a... really long time to apply anything aside from lipstick. I kind of fumble with most things, actually...
[ There's a thoughtful pause here. ]
You're right! Oh, I love that feeling! It was like that when Ulala-chan and I first found out apartment! And our dorm does have an awful lot of doors, huh?

She...didn't really mean to insinuate that Maya was bad at make-up, in any case, and looks a little apologetic. But she decides not to dwell on it. Maya seems happiest when she's talking, so Yukari moves on.
So you guys lived together, too? W-what was your apartment like?

Which side? Ulala-chan's was a lot cleaner than mine... I never really had time to pick it up, h-haha... but I was two rooms, part of a big complex called "Lunar Palace Konan", since we lived in the Konan ward of Sumaru city.
[ It has struck her a bit, here, that she feels quite at home with everyone in the Volo dorms as well. They're... so alike Tatsuya and the others, she supposes, that she finds comfort in that. Not that she'd ever admit to being unsettled to begin with. ]
I have to admit, compared to Sumaru, this place is so quiet...! I'm used to living in a big city, you know? It's a nice change of pace.

[ She doesn't go into detail about the Dark Hour--probably the only time of night when it's quiet, outside Tartarus. Otherwise, it's night clubs, students out and about, both with and without Apathy Syndrome...late night karaoke. Sometimes she's thankful their dorm was just far away enough from all that. ]
And don't worry. If it wasn't for Mitsuru-senpai, I don't think any of us would've been as diligent with cleaning our rooms, either.
[ She chuckles. ]
And even so, I doubt your room was anywhere near as bad as Stupei's. You know, it was so bad once, senpai thought he'd been robbed.
Reply
That bad, huh? Ahaha! That's actually kind of cute.
[ She can't help but laugh; it's an amusing image. ]
I think it says something about a person, you know? Their room. Of course, you'd have to be home enough FOR it to say something...
[ Annnnd she kind of wasn't. If she was, she was sleeping. ]
Reply
Yeah, I think that's true. I guess that's why I was so eager to get mine set up when I got here, heh.
[ She shrugs a little, her eyes averting away from the screen a bit. ]
Even if it is kind of a petty thing to be worried about, in the long run...
Reply
[ She certainly understood that much. ]

[ Yukari smiles a little, feeling a little better already. Maya had that effect on people, it seemed. She scratches her head, looking around her room. ]
It's...very "me" now. The bedsheets, the curtains and all--they have a better selection here than I expected. Especially with everyone grabbing things for themselves, for free and all.
