Er, there was a ladybug. It just fell off. Now it's on my desk. These bugs have issues.
Lily and I got an absolutely adorable card in the mail today from
cityrah and her kitty Pixel (thanks to both of you! ::helps Lily wave her paw back:: :D ). And a little surprise for Lily that I think she may not be legal to enjoy yet. Just have to save it until she gets closer to the 6-month mark. ;D
I was very sporadic with the cards/addresses thing. I wanted to put my name into every pollish (not Polish--I would never forget Poland) thing that showed up on my f-list, because I really do like you guys, and getting cards from you would always make my day. I also knew I wasn't going to get a chance to get cards of my own out this year, and the guilt generally got the better of me.
In good news I got the dog brushed.
Every Pyr owner is required to take at least one picture like this.
And for the second time we went to Petco to get his nails trimmed instead of doing it at home. We can and have clipped them at home for four years. It's just so much easier on everyone to take him there. I have no illusions that every time we go he's going to get the most super-qualified person doing it (whoever did it this time barely took much off), but he ends up getting a trip in the car, treats, too many distractions to care that his nails are getting trimmed, and I don't win the contest for Meanest Person Ever because he thinks I tried to amputate his toes for fun again. I also don't like to take him out in public looking too scruffy, thus the added motivation to do the brushing.
I can't look. Do I have any toes left?
In less good news, it looks like Oscar has Hole In the Head (fish disease where holes start to develop on the fish's head and back and slowly eat their way into the fish--fairly common in larger oscars for some reason.) We're trying vitamins and antibiotics and big water changes, but seeing as possible cures for this are only outnumbered by the possible causes, I'm feeling less than hopeful. With all of his problems I'm impressed that he made it this far, but that won't make me less unhappy if he goes this way.
Hey, there goes the ladybug again. It's really crusing this time.
And Lily's getting so big. She gained a whole pound. For X-mas she would like to gain another two or three pounds. It's hard to be taken seriously by Boo Boo when she can't even make half of his weight.
This is a little older, but the flash gave Lily X-mas lights for eyes!
Y'know, I could probably come up with some things to post about that didn't revolve around the animals in the house, but that post would inevitably dissolve into a discussion of how I'm lazy, unfocused, and seriously due for a reevaluation of just what it is I'm doing with myself these days. I think going with cute is better for now.
The ladybug seems to have disappeared...
