OK, OK. So I haven't updated for about six hundred years. (Actually, I think if you replace "hundred years" with weeks there, it's about right...)
So, what I have been up to? Went to Paris en famille and then my cousin's wedding later in the week. Photos to follow. Probably. If I'm organised enough. Also went on a
Wycliffe course, which I really enjoyed. Got to play with linguistics and meet lovely people and think about what I'm going to do with my life (OK, maybe the last bit was a leetle bit scary, but such is life).
Am now back in Manchester. Spent last week running around trying to talk temping agencies into giving me a job. Succeeded, and have this week been working as a receptionist and getting very bored. Although I did at least get to read 'The Order of the Phoenix' (AND I CANNOT BELIEVE WHO GOT KILLED OFF!!! I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE DUDLEY, YOU HORRIBLE PEOPLE!!) and 'Tipping the Velvet'. Yay books! Next week I am going to be a receptionist at a different place, namely a car dealers. Argh. I'm not quite sure how well this is going to go.
I have also been frantically practising for the impending black belt grading, which could be going far, far worse. So I'm not feeling too bad about it at the moment, although I do go through phases of panicking that it's all going to go horribly wrong. It is vaguely comforting to know, however, that the head of our school failed his black belt the first time because he stepped on the knife having disarmed his opponent. So even if *I* do that, I won't be the only person on the mat to have joined the elite club of very silly people.
This is all rather tiring though, as I am starting work at silly o'clock in the morning and getting back from Aikido fairly late and having to eat stuff. Hmmm. Need to work out cunning system I think. However, I am going to Spain in two weeks, which is rather good. Although I haven't heard anything about it since I sent my registration form off, which is a little worrying...
Anyway, do let me know if something earth-shattering has happened in the past while which I should probably know about (as otherwise I will have to resort to the horrors of traditional forms of communication like talking) :-)
Oh, and I now have glasses.
