FUUUUCK. Godfuckingdammit. I SWORE I would never EVER watch anything attached to J.J. Abrams EVER again. PLUS I had already decided this show was gonna be a lame copycat of the X-Files and hi -- been there, done that, have the scars. And now this. LOW FUCKING BLOW. Gah.
[The positive thought is that it could be worse: it could be Rob Thomas instead of JJ Abrams. *shudders*]

I stopped my SG-1 novels + Discworld devouring to read a couple of new books during my vacation --
I read Twilight on Tuesday -- even though it bugs me A LOT that the name of the book is Twilight, because HI, WRONG.
Twilight = this fic, THE END -- and while I did think it was kinda trite and predictable [and I'm pretty sure it was the easiest book I've read since I was 12], I'm now gonna go find myself copies of the sequels because my OCD won't let me quit while I'm ahead. Heh.
Then I read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time on Wednesday and OMG FANTASTIC. I might force everyone I know to read this book and then come back and talk to me about it. YES.

Nikki Finke says the WGA strike isn't over, plus a timetable for the next few days. Though I guess it's pretty clear both sides are trying to settle things down before the Oscars.
Fingers still [metaphorically] crossed.

In other news, this computer is a jerk and wiped out my iPod when I tried to update the last.fm software. WHAT THE FUCKERY WAS THAT?! Though it's a lucky thing I've copied most of my songs to my cousin's computer the last time I was here, and she lives just around the corner. Whew.
