she done me good

I found myself reading the latest issue of rolling stone this morning. I anxiously awaited reading the charts, where the Beatles 'Let it be...naked' sits proudly at number 5. I sip fruit juice and attempt to recall a quote I had taped to my wall some 18 months ago. It goes a little something like this ( Read more... )

That's true. I've noticed that she's slowly dying away from the media. She's still there, just not as much as before. Which is a good thing.

I like pop-punk a lot. There's those bands that add credibility to the genre(even though it's nothing complex) & then there's those bands that come out of nowhere & cash in on it because they're a "pop-punk band" & that's the "in" thing at the moment. They give the established pop-punks a bad name. I mean people think that Good Charlotte & Avril Lavigne are in the same category with Blink-182. That's actually quite hilarious because if people took the time to compare them fairly, they'd find out that there is a significant difference between these bands. Blink-182 is way better. They can actually play their instruments. They aren't as bad as people say they are. People just say it to be douches & because the band is popular. They're popular because people like their music. Maybe some people like them just to like them but there are people out there who love the music they make. Sorry about the rant. I'm not attacking anybody. I just think I'm the only person who's open about liking Blink-182. I know there are other people out there who like them too but they're hiding it because Blink is a popular band.

I like Thursday. I just don't like the bands that are "clones" of them. They may not be clones to other people but they are to me. I think they suck. People may think my music sucks too & that's cool with a credible reason. I listened to those bands that I said sucked & came to that conclusion because I didn't like what I heard. Sometimes it's just the singer. Sometimes it's the way they play.

I happen to like KoRn's first cd too. It's actually very good. They just went downhill with each album.

I just left myself open for an anonymous bash & I'm sure I'll get one since I attract stuff like that.

By the way, I'm doing fine Audrey. How about yourself?

I openly like Blink-182 also. Since when did a band become a bunch of pop posers for having melody in their songs? Travis Barker is genius on drums and I can listen to every one of their albums through and love each and every song. Blink knows who they are. They aren't out trying to be the Misfits (Good Charlotte), or anything else that they're not. They have pink, baby blue, and seafoam green guitars!!! No other band at the time would dare step into the national spotlight with that shit. Deep down everybody knows that they wanted one of those guitars and they were cool, but wouldn't say so. I think Blink deserves some respect for taking so much heat from everybody for so many years. They weathered the storm and showed that they are for real and won't stop making their music because other people don't like it. It doesn't hurt that they're making a pretty penny at it either. But I think they deserve it after being betrayed by even their own fans at some points because they were unsure of if Blink was still "cool" or not in the public eye.
